MSN ePortfolio

                                                                                                                                                                    ePortfolio

An ePortfolio is an electronic collection of evidence that identifies how the MSN student achieved each of the End of Program Learning Outcomes. Students can utilize PowerPoint, Google Slides or another electronic presentation format.

All MSN students will present an e-portfolio as their final presentation during their last course. Students will start gathering examples (evidence) for their e-portfolios in NUR502 and this will continue with each course that is completed.

At the beginning of your MSN education journey, you will want to create folders for each End of Program Learning Outcomes. This can be completed through the google platform, Microsoft or by utilizing the Folio tab in Canvas.

At the end of each course that you complete during your MSN journey, take time to review the assignments and which one you feel met an End of Program Learning Outcome. Look at your discussion boards, papers, presentations, journals and save the assignment(s) to the appropriate End of Program Learning Outcome.

When you develop your ePortfolio in your last course, you want to personally reflect on each Program Learning Outcome and how you grew over the course of your education. This venue will allow you to express your stories, personal strengths and weaknesses, and describe growth and development into your chosen advanced practice role. You will share challenges you faced, how you fostered critical thinking and what motivated you to use the core competencies standards to evaluate your own practice.

The presentation structure will include:

  • The Outcome you are addressing
  • Representative sample (assignments, discussion boards, papers, presentations and/or journal entries.
  • Reflection statement
  • Challenges- what are the challenges related to the particular topic?
  • Opportunities- what are the opportunities for changes to be made?
  • Changes in thinking- how was your thinking changed as you gained knowledge and developed in your chosen advanced role.
  • Comprehensive reflection- You will describe what you learned through this reflection.
