Final -- Case Study Part

The Final consists of two parts -- the is the Case Study Part.

Instructions, choose 1 (and only 1) question to answer, and submit your work as a Google Doc or Word file.  I expect the answer to be 1 to 2 pages long. 

1. Review the career statistics of pro hockey player Bob "Corky" Corkum Links to an external site..   Explain what are the most important factors (1 or 2)  in explaining Corky's yearly achievements (=Points+, where Points = Goals + Assists.  (P = G + A in the stats.)   What additional statistics would you consider collecting for a presentation to hockey coaches?  
2. Review the IRS dataset for Massachusetts by Zip Code Download IRS dataset for Massachusetts by Zip Code.  (HINT:  Download this Excel file rather than opening it in Canvas.)  Considering the data for the North Shore communities (5 or more, including Beverly), which data would you select in helping develop business analysis?  (This may be for customer research, marketing strategy, location of new businesses, or whatever you choose.  Be sure to make the reasons for your analysis clear.)  
3. Review the data about the US military demographics Links to an external site.. What three changes have the most effect on current recruitment and retention?  Explain why.  Also list what other data you would need to collect in developing hypothesis testing and/or linear regression models about recruitment and retention. 
4. Review the journal article about nurses' perceptions of violence Download nurses' perceptions of violence.  Select three to five statistically significant findings and explain their importance.  Finally, describe a possible follow-on study, and whether you would use chi-square, or another approach, and why.
