Instructions
This quiz covers all the concepts we've covered so far this year, but focuses mostly on chapters 5 and 6.1–6.5 of the text book "Discovering Computer Science" (Havill, 2nd edition). You may use a two-sided 8.5x11" cheat sheet, but nothing else. Only this Canvas Quiz should be open on your computer (no other chat windows, web pages, software, etc.).
As with any quiz or exam, I suggest that you read through all the questions first and prioritize them based on how comfortable you are with the material.
Grading
Certain questions (multiple choice, drop downs, etc.) are automatically graded and you will receive full or partial credit based on Canvas' grading system.
For free response questions, I will use the following system (this is slightly more favorable than what is outlined in the syllabus with regard to partial credit):
5pts |
The response is correct or very close to correct. |
2pts | The provided response isn't very close to correct, but demonstrates an understanding of some of the material pertinent to the question |
0pts |
No response was provided, or the response that was provided does not demonstrate an understanding of any of the material pertinent to the question and/or is very far from correct |
