Shovel Ready Projects
I mentioned in this week's notes about Shovel Ready Projects. These are projects located in cites/towns or in states, that could be funded by Federal government spending in the case of recession. To be clear, a Shovel Ready Project does not have to literally involve shovels -- building a building or road or whatnot. It just means the project has been designed to the point where work can begin at almost anytime. So while it could be about physical construction, it could also be a service that could be created or expanded.
Let's assume just for the sake of this assignment that it is likely that (a) there will be a recession within the next 5 years and (b) that the Federal government will finance Shovel Ready Projects as a result.
So your job is to suggest three to five Shovel Ready Projects for your city/town and state. (Some projects may be local, others might be state wide.) Describe each proposed project in about one or two paragraphs, then for each, also describe who in the community would benefit from such a project. That is, how and where the additional government spending would flow as a result of the project. For example, a literal "shovel ready" project would benefit businesses that sell shovels and the people who use shovels in their work. Then the suppliers of that business and the stores where the shovel workers buy things. Note that you do not have to provide financial estimate for the projects.
Your paper should be at least two or three pages long, probably not more than five pages, double spaced, and in APA, MLA, or Chicago style.
