Unit 1 Discussion

Many of the discussions in the course, like this one, use TED Talks.  These are brief (15 to 20 minute) talks by leaders in a variety of fields, including economics.  Note that all TED Talks have optional captions as well as transcripts.  

In the course, the use of TED Talks gives us a broader view of current economic trends and events beyond the text. 

For this discussion, listen to Prof. Jackson's talk and take some notes as you go.   Then in a posting of about  2 paragraphs, connect 2 or more points that Jackson makes to your career, professional ambitions, or to your life as a citizen or member of the community.  Post this initial posting by Wednesday.  Then respond to two or more of your classmates by Friday.   These responses might be a couple or so sentences long.
