Week 2 Excel Homework

Note that this assignment has two parts and your work should be submitted in a single Excel workbook file.  It is due by Wednesday, February 13, at 12 noon.  

For week 2, use the data from the Excel workbook file to calculate these statistics about the age of marathon runners using Excel.  Note that each student has their own tab in the workbook, so you will use only the data in your own tab.  

Hints:  See the Excel file I created in class for examples.  But note that you will be creating statistics for a group of about 100 runners, not the 25 I did in class.

Part I:  Calculate the following statistics for the age of the runners: 

Average
Mode
Median
Max
Min
Quartile 1
Quartile 2
Quartile 3
InterQuartile Range
Variance
Standard Deviation

Part II:  Compare your findings to these age statistics for Top 25 Runners and note whether your group is higher, lower, or about the same for each of these statistics.
